Terms of Service

Draft — pending review by counsel. Last updated: [DATE]. Bracketed items are placeholders awaiting confirmation.

1. The service

RedactBot is a web application operated by Kobargo Technology Partners [legal entity — PLACEHOLDER] that permanently redacts content from documents you upload: pages are rasterized and OCR’d when needed, scanned by detection templates (and, on plans that include it, AI detection run through a managed AI gateway operated for RedactBot), reviewed by you, and burned in with a verification pass. The service also produces privilege logs, redaction certificates, and an audit trail.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for use by you or your organization; you may not resell access. [PLACEHOLDER — minimum age / authority to bind organization.]

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to violate law, to process documents you have no right to process, to probe or disrupt the service, to attempt to access other customers’ data, or to circumvent plan limits. We may suspend accounts that endanger the service or other customers.

4. Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in USD through Stripe. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and paid features remain available until then. We may change prices with advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period. [PLACEHOLDER — refund policy.] Plan limits (documents per month on paid plans, pages per month on Free, upload size, storage) are described on the pricing page; when a limit is reached, the associated function pauses until the limit resets or you upgrade.

5. Your content

You own the documents you upload and everything the service derives from them (redacted outputs, privilege logs, certificates). You grant us only the rights needed to operate the service on your behalf — storing, processing, and displaying your content to you and the people you authorize. We do not use your documents to train models or for any purpose other than providing the service.

6. Retention and auto-delete

Documents are retained per your plan, as disclosed at signup and on the pricing page: Free-plan documents auto-delete 48 hours after upload; Pro-plan documents auto-delete after 14 days; Premier-plan documents are kept until you delete them. Auto-deletion is permanent. It is your responsibility to export outputs you need before a retention window closes.

7. Your review is part of the process

Redaction outputs depend on your review. Detection templates and any AI endpoint you connect propose candidates; you confirm every redaction before burn-in, and the certificates describe that user-reviewed process. You are responsible for reviewing detections and confirming that the marks you burn in are the right ones for your matter.

8. No certification

The software is designed to support customers’ compliance programs and regulated workflows. We do not represent that use of the service, by itself, makes you compliant with — or certified under — HIPAA or any other law, regulation, or standard. Responsibility for your compliance obligations remains with you.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. [PLACEHOLDER — warranty disclaimer and liability cap, e.g. fees paid in the preceding 12 months, pending counsel review.]

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time, which deletes your stored documents. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive (content ownership, liability, governing law) survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE — PLACEHOLDER], excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. [PLACEHOLDER — venue and dispute resolution.]

12. Contact
